As a leader, effective communication is essential for building strong relationships with your team. Take a moment to reflect on the best manager you had when it came to communication.

What did they do that made them great communicators?

Was it their clarity, frequency, timing, authenticity, or how it made you feel?

For me, it was a manager who gave me time and undivided attention, listened attentively, and allowed me the space to consider her input. She was firm but fair and always set clear expectations. And, most importantly, she believed in me, especially during times of self-doubt.

As a leader, it’s crucial to model the positive experiences you’ve had with communication in your own leadership.
